Sun exposure is an occupational hazard for outdoor workers. Ultraviolet or ‘UV’ radiation can cause cancer and because it’s invisible it can damage our skin without our knowledge. All skin types can be damaged permanently and irreversibly.

SunSmart, the skin cancer prevention program of The Cancer Council Australia, in partnership with iCourses, online safety training specialists, has developed this online training course to provide flexible learning about the hazards of sun exposure.

Who will benefit?

Our course is designed specifically for outdoor workers. It’s also ideal for staff induction, refresher training and professional development for H&S representatives.

What does it cover?

• UV radiation – why is it harmful and when is it strong enough to damage?
• Skin cancer – who is at risk?
• Five simple steps to protect your skin outdoors.
• Looking out for skin cancer and how to check your skin.
